In het afgelopen jaar is de Ando agenda verschillende keren onderscheiden, onder meer door toekenning van:

–   European Design Awards: Golden Award
–   One Show Design: Merit Award
–   Kalenderwedstrijd: Award Best Agenda

Nu is de agenda genomineerd voor the German Design Award 2012. Het is een bijzondere prijs omdat het niet mogelijk is je hiervoor in te schrijven. Een kleine groep design-scouts selecteert werk uit de hele wereld. Daarbij is het voorwaarde dat het geselecteerde werk al prijzen heeft gewonnen, anders komt het ontwerp hiervoor niet in aanmerking.

The award of awards
The very best in design deserves the best in prizes, to be more precise, the 2012 German Design Award. The successor to the federal prize ‘Gute Form’, it is bestowed annually for outstanding achievements in product and communication design. Personalities from the world of design are also honoured. There is also a cash prize for young designers. The German Design Award is the award of awards and the award of award-winners. A reward for outstanding work. Only works that are both pioneering and marketable, and indeed have already proved that they are fit for market, are short-listed. The competition aims to identify, present, and reward innovative and international design trends. In other words, design that differentiates. In this light, participating is something for the crème de la crème. Winning too.

Design evaluation of the highest order
Language needs speakers. Formal language needs advocates. For this reason, by means of exhibitions, conferences, competitions, and publications, the German Design Council ensures that design is given the attention and recognition it deserves. First and foremost, though, it promotes the exchange of ideas between designers, business, and society. Only by sharing knowledge can we all benefit from it. The German Design Council was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag (Parliament) with a view to advising and supporting German business with regard to design questions. With this in mind it stages, among other things, the annual German Design Award. Designers, companies, associations and institutions make up the foundation’s members, precisely those whose intention it is to help shape society. For them design means economic and cultural value added, which deserves appreciation.

The competition of the best
You can only recognize what is best in a competition featuring the best. However, anyone wanting to win the award of awards first has to have won another prestigious design competition. And even if you fulfil these requirements you cannot just go ahead and register. You have to be nominated. By a jury of experts.
