The Urban Barrier is a sustainable solution for building sites or mass-events combining separation, communication and routing functions. It’s quality is that it adds value to building sites and facilitate large crowds.
The Urban Barrier consists of a fixed set of 2 different modules. Concrete base elements are placed marking the area. These concrete paves support the polyethylene blocks. The blocks connect to the concrete pavement stroke by stable ‘poles’. Through this a stable 2.50 metre high wall can be created, following any curved or multi angled line. Module A contains a seating feature. The modules can be set with a LED-lightning function; at nighttime an ambient light line can be created in the wall.
The Flexible Barrier – information and communication
The information and communication on the Barrier can be altered according to changing needs during the season or time. The optional light system is dynamically programmable. The graphic communication is applied through changeable foil/sticker material.
Placing & costs
Building up the wall requires basic stabilizing and 'wiping out’ the ground surface. Because of the handling of the fence volumes, installations takes a bit more time than regular fencing. Therefore, the solutions is best applied to installations of at least one week. The costs for the Urban Barrier are relatively low by using widespread industrial production methods. Indicative pricing: eur 500 per meter @ 2.4m high (Indicative pricing excluding VAT, ex works Rotterdam. Price does not include placement, stickering and project management).
